of organs, tissues, or blood flow inside the body. This
type of procedure is often referred to as a sonogram, sonography,

Which
Ultrasonographic Specialty Is For You?
Few ultrasonographers
who opt for a 2 year or 4 year degree program do not
choose a specialty. This specialty makes you that much
more valuable to the medical community. However, there are several specialties you could choose from:
* Abdominal sonographers – study the abdominal
cavity including the gallbladder, bile ducts, kidneys,
liver, pancreas, and spleen.
* Obstetric
and gynecologic sonographers – study the female reproductive
system
* Ophthalmologic sonographers – study the eyes.
* Neurosonographers – study the nervous system,
including the brain.
